NTV - Activities & Outings
The Fest
The Fest is a wonderful summertime trip to Willoughby to listen to Christian music groups and mingle with Catholic service groups from around the area. When we went last year we were impressed the The Seven Days of Creation Activity area for children. We made balloon sculptures while we sat on our blankets listening to Jeremy Camp. The BMX bikes (and their friendly riders) were a big hit with our teens.
Rock N R Ranch We start our fall season with a trip to Rock N R Ranch for a Halloween Haunted House and bonfire. Next year everyone is going to come with a scary tale to tell around the campfire.
Bowling At least once a year we pack up our bags and hit the lanes. We are fortunate to have some statewide contenders in our group. The high school boys went the The State Tournament last year.
Plays This year we went to see Godspell. This local production was set in Iraq with a platoon of soldiers playing the main rolls instead of the traditional cast posing as hippies. It was a wonderful experience of the Gospel of Matthew.
Oblebay, West Virginia (Oglebay Pictures) Every other year we spend a week in a beautiful resort in West Virginia. We share a cabin, games, daily Mass, and group discussions. Students play golf with Fr. Gonser. There is a pool, a putt-putt course, paddle boats, and a beautiful lodge. Students are assigned daily duties for the good of all. There is always a late night "Snipe Hunt" with Fr. Gonser. The community building power of this trip make it worth all the effort of getting there and getting the group organized.
Camp Christopher The obstacle courses at Camp Christopher challenge us to work together. This is going to be an annual trip. Next year we want to take on the High Ropes Course.
We are on a mission. We are building trust and community while working our brains and muscles. Jason Evert
We went to see Jason when he visited St. Raphael's in Bay Village.
