NCYC 2009 Pilgrim Reflections
From: Nick
I think the most memorable moment of NCYC was during the distribution of the Eucharist. During regular mass at St. Julie’s, it takes five, maybe ten minutes to give everyone the Eucharist. It took that amount of time just to get the priests set up to start giving out the Eucharist. In all, it took about 45 minutes. It gave me an idea of just how massive the Catholic Church really is, and that I am never alone in my faith.

My most memorable moment at NCYC was just being in a city with 20,000 people and everywhere you looked and went, just knowing that they were all there for the same thing and sharing in the same activities that you were a part of. One of my favorite moments was probably meeting Father Tony, because he is one of the coolest, different priest ever!

The most memorable time that I had at NCYC this year was when I accidently got locked under the bus in the luggage department, at the very bottom of the bus, for six or seven minutes. I think God was testing me to see if I had faith in Him. It was kind of funny, when I got stuck under the bus, though. At first I was scared because it was literally pitch dark and I couldn't see a thing. I only saw a tiny light way down on the other side of the bus, as I was lying across all the luggage. I accidently got locked in as I was taking some morning medicine, after we had breakfast. I knew my Guardian Angel (my friend) , God, Mary, and other angels on the bus, were with me in that crazy moment. So there was nothing to be afraid of. After a short time, I was found and everybody was so happy to see me!
